Every ministry has a beginning. Ours started with a burden.
In 2000, after a 20-year career in public health, Cathy Gates felt called into full-time ministry as the executive director of an evangelical church. Leading during a tumultuous time gave her a real sense of the challenges church and ministry leaders face, and she witnessed firsthand the toll leadership can take emotionally, relationally, spiritually, and physically.
Behind the sermons and the smiles, she saw people running on empty, carrying unresolved grief, invisible wounds, and an unspoken conviction that they were somehow supposed to be fine.
Thrive Ministries provides safe spaces for Christian ministry leaders and their families to become more firmly rooted in their relationship with the Lord as they navigate the realities of life and ministry. It’s a place where open, honest dialogue with trusted individuals is encouraged.
Our volunteers have ministry leadership experience and truly understand what ministry can be like. They provide pastoral care, preventative resources, and support for spiritual, relational, and emotional health through specialized groups and individual conversations.
